Inspiring Music Videos #5

This is one of the most beautiful videos I’ve seen in a while. I’ve been listening to a ton of ambient music lately, maybe it’s just winter, maybe it’s just me, but when I checked out Hammock’s site, I stumbled upon this new video. It’s a video for “Mono No Aware”, off their new album, “Maybe They Will Sing For Us Tomorrow”. The cinematography is incredible and fits the dreamy song perfectly. Wow.

Beautiful! Boiling over with gentle energy. I may end up posting the video on my own blog later today.

Found your entry through tag-surfing ‘mono no aware’. Just wrote a haphazard article on the idea, which you may or may not know is a Japanese expression for – and it’s not easy to translate but – ‘the transience of things and a bittersweet sadness at their passing’ (wikipedia).

This video expresses that feeling poignantly. Sigur Ros videos are very similar in style.
